The Great Conjunction marks the opportunity for everyone to see Jupiter and Saturn at the same time.

Winter Solstice sets the right stage for the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, with Skywatchers and astronomers feeling excited.

In case you want to view the event, the Virtual Telescope Project in Rome (Italy) will be showing the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21, 2020, beginning at 16 UTC; that is, noon on Monday EST.

In the telescopic view, watchers will be able to see both planets and some of their moons in a rare conjunction.

The most last great conjunction took place on 31 May 2000, and the next will occur today, 21 December 2020.

During the 2020 great conjunction, the two planets (Jupiter and Saturn) will be separated in the sky by a minimum of 6 arcminutes, the nearest separation between both planets since 1623.

We are celebrating Winter Solstice Day, the start of Winter 2020 and The Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn on December 21

The winter solstice therefore is booked to happen on Monday, December 21, 2020.

It is the astronomical first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and is seen as the shortest day of the year.
