Linda Evangelista is a Canadian fashion model and one of the prime supermodels from the 1990s, gracing catwalks and magazine covers.
Regarded as one of the most accomplished and noteworthy models of all time, Evangelista has been starred on over 700 magazine covers.

What procedure did Linda Evangelista have?
While carrying out CoolSculpting Evangelista noted that the effect of the procedure gave her the reverse of what she expected, noting that it did the “opposite of what it promised.

Body Contouring or coolsculpting is a popular non-surgical procedure that employs cold temperatures to reduce fat residues in specific regions of the body.

In her words to her 900,000 Instagram faithfuls, she said, “I have been left, as the media has described, ‘unrecognisable’,”
Evangelista clarified that the reaction was the reason she disappeared from the public eye for a long time.

She confessed that she has been left “permanently deformed” as a result of an adverse reaction to a fat reduction procedure.

The 56-year-old grandmother disclosed she experienced the unusual cosmetic side effect of the therapy five years ago which literally heightened her fat cells.

The Canadian star also announced that she had undergone “two painful, unsuccessful, corrective surgeries” after the slimming procedure – also known as body contouring – had had the opposite effect.

“To my followers who have wondered why I have not been working while my peers’ careers have been thriving, the reason is that I was brutally disfigured by… [a procedure] which did the opposite of what it promised,”

She explained the side effect she encountered “has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness and the lowest depths of self-loathing. In the process I have become a recluse.”

In her Instagram update, the model said she wanted to tell her story in order to move on with her life, and suggested she would be charging the company she said was responsible.

“I’m so tired of living this way, I would like to walk out my door with my head held high, despite not looking like myself any longer.”

Evangelista described the “very rare but serious side effect” she had experienced to a case of the fat cells in the treatment site grow larger rather than smaller”, adding that: “It’s not fully understood why this occurs.”

The star has kept a low profile in recent years, barely posting fresh images of herself on social media.

In the few pictures she has posted, her face is often partially blurred by a headscarf or hat.
