Star Wars Actor David Prowse’s agent Thomas Bowington told the BBC that the star died following a brief illness.
The former bodybuilder also received an MBE in the year 2000 in recognition of his role in educating children on road safety codes as the Green Code Man.

Bowington affirmed that Prowse’s death is
“a truly and deeply heart-wrenching loss for us and millions of fans all over the world.”
Prowse played the character Darth Vader [voiced by James Earl Jones] in the original Star Wars trilogy.
He also won hearts by his portrayal as the Green Cross Code Man, teaching road safety codes and precautions to children across the United Kingdom.

According to a statement by the BBC,
“‘May the force be with him, always!’ said his agent Thomas Bowington. ‘Though famous for playing many monsters – for myself, and all who knew Dave and worked with him, he was a hero in our lives.’ Mr Bowington called the actor’s death, after a short illness, ‘a truly and deeply heart-wrenching loss for us and millions of fans all over the world’.

David Prowse the Darth Vader [Star Wars] Star saved the lives of many children universally his Green Cross Code Man character back in the 1970s
In the UK, Prowse was popularly seen as the Green Cross Code Man, a superhero who was created to promote a road safety campaign and code education for children in 1975.
As a result of his association with the road safety campaign, which ran between 1971 and 1990, David Prowse received the MBE in 2000.
Few years ago, the aged Star war star returned to the public scene to warn adults and family members of the dangers of technology distractions in our generation, especially texting while driving.
